Culture and beliefs: The fun component
In myABCKit, “fun” is a huge component not only for defining how kids can lead to the best learning outcomes while using our product; but also because without fun, our startup wouldn’t be a great place to work, it would be pretty much, hell.
Fun is important into our daily basis because we work for kids and with kids, and we’re learning from them how powerful fun is, precisely, in serious situations.
Fun boosts our most authentic self, it triggers engagement and intimacy with the people you’re having fun with (as well as empathy and affection) and -mostly in a startup- is a perfect way to reduce the stress, fear and anxiety in the difficult task of creating a product.
In our case, fun comes in wide different ways, but mostly, we’re using it for two main purposes:
- To strengthen our relationship while working on remote: Fer (CTO) works in Madrid while Anna (CPO) and I are in Barcelona. Thank you Giphy.
- And to communicate which are our beliefs on education and our life big heroes, and we’re doing it with our business cards.
Fun in our case is not something extra, something to get when we “have time” (c’mon we’re a startup, we’ll probably never have time) it is one of our main connector as a team.
