Let’s dive right in.

State of the dApp

The Decentralised Development Fund has been the tech team’s main focus over the past few weeks. The DDF is a key part of MyBit’s move to a decentralised autonomous organisation, moving development away from the team and to the community. It rewards anyone for their contribution — from developers to designers and marketers, all over the world.

Since launching this month, we’ve had over 40 tasks completed by 10+ contributors. Major projects include the completion of the MyBit Will dApp, a new, easier way to create a will without the time and expense of a solicitor. Another was Dropzone, our latest dApp that lets you create ERC20 airdrops on the Ethereum network.

In addition, contributors have helped to develop some key functionalities for the MyBit Network: from accepting any token as payment and automatically converting it to MYB to developing voting with MYB tokens.

To find out more, follow the link to our Telegram and get involved in the DDF here.

Marketing News

This month, the team were excited to announce a collaboration with Enigma. In our MyBit + Enigma blog, we set out a proposal for combining the Enigma Protocol and the MyBit Network to provide a security layer for use cases where there are serious privacy concerns. This is essential as we build a market-leading platform for truly decentralised applications. You can read more about it here.

The team attended Devcon 4 in Prague, Czech Republic. MyBit sponsored this year’s Status hackathon, with over 500 developers in attendance. All of the team were proud to be part of the movement bringing blockchain technology to a global audience.

MyBit has also been invited to join Blockfolio Signals. Blockfolio is the leading cryptocurrency portfolio tracking app and their Signals feature lets users find out the latest news, updates and insights about the projects and cryptocurrencies they hold. The team are always looking for new ways to get our message out there and Signals will enable us to access the vast Blockfolio community.

Team News

Ian has been involved in some high-profile speaking events, including the Crypto Valley Blockchain Finance Summit and a roundtable on the future of sustainable work at Revision in Berlin this month.

Jose was selected as the Hacker Noon contributor of the day by Everipedia. This means he not only gets his own page on Everipedia, but his story will feature forever on the world’s largest blockchain encyclopedia. You can check out their update here.

Next is Amy Karr who joins as an Adviser from Galileo, a specialist marketing agency. She will be Marketing Lead on a new marketing initiative the team will be launching in the coming weeks. Amy is an accomplished entrepreneur, awarded marketing executive and philanthropist, having worked with brands like Samsung, Microsoft and P&G — as well as startups in the blockchain space.

Lastly, Konstantin Dmitriev joins the marketing team as a UI and Product Designer, adding further expertise to this growing department. He has over seven years experience in web design, product development and UI/UX.
