Mycelium is one of the most trusted and most useful mobile bitcoin wallets. Developing, maintaining and supporting this product is not free. This year Mycelium aims to break even. This is an ambitious goal that we believe is both achievable and good for its user base. Indeed self financing the company makes the product more viable in the long term, ensures continuous development of new features and increases the quality of our support. Mycelium has built several revenue streams for a few years through added value services. We are now increasing the number of revenue streams and making them easier to discover and to use.

This month we released an update to our Android app that introduced partner links in our main screen. We would like to clarify a few points. First, it is not an advertisement network. Our partner links do not capture any data and we dot not ourselves collect any data. It is an Android button with content selected and hard coded in the app. The button opens external web views showing our select partners websites. There is no security risk.
Second, referrals happens only when users decide to make a purchase on our partners websites. No money is made by displaying these partner links or when users click on them.
Finally, there is currently a high interest in bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, attracting many new users. These new users need to learn how to secure their funds and how to use them. We believe our partnerships help them discover this information more easily.
