2024 Major Update 2: Soul Bound Hero (SBH)

We would like to inform you that Soul-Bound Hero (SBH), which cannot be transferred or sold, will be sold in My Crypto Heroes.

Prior to the start of sales, the first sale price will be determined by original hero holder voting, and we will also introduce a new referral system and return 50% of sales to original hero holders as MCHC.

Soul Bound Hero (SBH)

SBH has various features such as skill performance and art settings that are the same as the original heroes sold in the past, but there are the following differences.

1. Restrictions on transfer and sale

Unlike original heroes, SBH cannot be transferred or sold. The following actions are not allowed.

  • Transfer from MCH World to Ethereum or Polygon
  • Gifts to other accounts in-game (transfer)
  • Buying and selling on the in-game market
  • Buying and selling on out-of-game markets (e.g. tofuNFT)

2. Issuance and holding limit

There is no issue limit for SBH, but each game account can have a maximum of three of the same hero.

3. Rights regarding initial sales price determination for SBH

The first sale price of SBH will be determined by the votes of original hero holders. For details, please refer to the items below.

4. New referral system

SBH will be sold in GUM based on the method described below, and for 50% of the sales GUM, MCHC calculated backward from the GUM/MCHC rate will be returned to the original hero holder. Please note that the MCHC to be distributed will not be newly issued, but will be procured through market purchase.

Increase the value of your heroes and receive referral rewards!

In order to receive referral reward, all of the following conditions must be met at the time of reward distribution (around midnight on the target SBH sales end date).

  • Having the original hero in-game
  • Being an active user (one of the following conditions must be met.)
    - Obtaining the daily bonus on Polygon more than 14 times in the previous season.
    - Subscribing to MCH Prime
  • [Only for the first sale of each hero] Participating in the price determination vote described below for the heroes.

Example: If ten King Arthur’s SBHs are purchased for 10,000 GUM

  • Total Sales:100,000 GUM
  • Total Reward:MCHC equivalent to 50,000 GUM (approximately 120,000 MCHC at the time of writing)
  • Example(If there are five users A to E who meet the conditions)
    - User A (holding one Arthur):15,000 MCHC
    - User B (holding two Arthur):30,000 MCHC
    - User C (holding one Arthur):15,000 MCHC
    - User D (holding three Arthur):45,000 MCHC
    - User E (holding one Arthur):15,000 MCHC

If you do not participate in the voting, you will not receive the referral reward. Please don’t forget to participate.

Overview

For the first sale price, only the original hero holders will vote for a value for each hero, and the median of all votes will be the first sale price.

Voting will be done in GUM, and at the end of voting, the selling price will be determined in USD based on the GUM/USD rate. SBH are also sold in GUM, and the sales GUM price will fluctuate depending on the GUM/USD price fluctuation.

Example: If the following seven votes are received for King Arthur, the median value is 666 GUM (0.0666 ETH). When USD/ETH = 3,000 at the end of voting, GUM equivalent to 3,000 × 0.0666(*) = 199.8 USD will be the price at the time of SBH sale.

* GUM is sold with the rate of 10,000 GUM = 1 ETH

Sales Schedule

First Sale

Starting March 17, 2024, all eligible heroes will be on sale for seventeen weeks (approximately four months). SBH sold each week is updated and sold at the price decided by voting. The following heroes will appear for the first week.

Uncommon: Wright Brothers, Spartacus, Jack the Ripper
Rare:
Mata Hari, Emperor Nero, Mary Read
Epic:
Kojiro Sasaki, Karl Marx, Isamu Kondo, Zhou Yu
Legendary:
Cao Cao, Qin Shi Huang

The heroes that will be sold from next week onwards will be announced one by one, so stay tuned!

Second and subsequent sales

After the 17th week, SBH heroes will be resold. The order of sales will be the same as the first time.

We are considering the following policies for determining the selling price for the second and subsequent sales. Please note that this is just the current design policy and is subject to change.

  • No voting will be held
  • The sale prices are automatically updated on every sale according to logic
    * After a first round of hero sales (17 weeks), we calculate the deviation value for each rarity for the number of sales of each hero. The price at the next sale will change according to the deviation value; if the deviation value is 50, the price will not change, if it is greater than 50, the price will increase, and if it is less than 50, the price will decrease.
  • The sale price updates are limited to within a certain range from the previous price
    * We have temporarily planned a function that has the following relationship between deviation value and price fluctuation.
    - Deviation value 70: +32.3%
    - Deviation value 60: +15%
    - Deviation value 50: ±0%
    - Deviation value 40: -13%
    - Deviation value 30: -23.4%
  • The sale price increases as the ownership rate of the hero among active users increases, and the price decreases as the ownership rate decreases.
    * We are considering expressing active users as a deviation value as shown above, rather than incorporating them directly into the logic.
  • Within the same hero rarity, the higher the ownership rate of active users, the smaller the price fluctuation, and the lower the ownership rate, the larger the price fluctuation.
    * We are considering calculating the deviation value for each rarity and reflecting it in price fluctuations.
