Better Call Saul

If you are into TV series, surely you agree “Breaking Bad” is the best show ever made. Not one of the best, THE best. Full stop.

Obviously I was a bit sceptical when I heard about AMC’s plans for a spin off. Normally, with TV shows, as the season number grows, the quality declines. And when they finally call it, the show is already dead. So when it comes to making a sequel/prequel/spin-off, well, who’s still watching?

Take that, and add the fact that due to its popularity and amazing-ness, the expectations were already high for a “Breaking Bad” spin-off. So naturally anything less than great would be disappointing.

But “Breaking Bad” wasn’t a normal show, that’s why “Better Call Saul” delivers your withdrawal fix.

After only two episodes, we still don’t know much about where they are taking us, but it is off to a good start. The story is compelling and there are enough familiar references for the “Breaking Bad” fans.

The first season debuted last Sunday and it’s already renewed for a second season. Its premier broke the record for biggest series premier in cable history.

Will it stand on its own feet and will the audience, who haven’t watched “Breaking Bad” get it? I don’t know and honestly I don’t care. If you haven’t watched “Breaking Bad” you better reconsider your life choices.
