What’s Your Story?

It takes about 10 years for an individual to receive mental health support from the first onset of symptoms — and for communities of color, it’s even longer. That’s 3650 days, 87600 hours. The number one barrier to seeking support is the stigma that surrounds mental illness. A world where mental illness is destigmatized requires YOU.

We are launching an online forum for people of color to share their stories, thoughts, experiences, trials, tribulations, yearnings, dreams. Consider this digital therapy — but you have the power to make this community of support grow.

If you identify as a person of color AND as someone who lives with mental illness, please consider sharing. We’re particularly interested in capturing Chicago stories. We’ve created a form so that people can sign up (linked and embedded below). We respect each individual’s right to anonymity and providing a name, email address, or phone number is 100 percent optional.

Let’s build this shit together.

[EDIT: Due to current time constraints of the founder, we are no longer accepting or publishing stories for the time being. To see past stories submitted, visit our main publication page.]
