Psyber-X hits target with Myria partnership
You can almost smell the gunmetal oil and whiff of post-trigger-pull nitroglycerine as you navigate the dystopian cityscapes of Psyber-X. Built using Unreal Engine 5, this hyper-realistic Battle Royale-style game brings the thrills and blood-spills of Web2 first-person shooters (FPS) to Web3.
Why does this matter? Because now players can have full ownership of everything from their weapons and armor to the loot they find.

A cut above Web2
Psyber-X project manager, Alex Trapp, enthuses about the company’s foray into Web3 and the recent overhaul of the gaming experience.
“Since switching to Unreal Engine 5 from Unity, Psyber-X plays like any other triple-A FPS game out there. That’s vitally important if we want to lure players away from console games and Web2 games into the world of Web3. You don’t want an average game with a token as bait. You want an outstanding game that happens to have a token.”
Psyber-X NFTs
When it comes to Psyber-X NFTs, these will consist almost entirely of equipment that can be used in-game including weapons, armor, and special power-ups. Some of these will be single-use, meaning they can be used in a match once but remain in the owner’s possession.
Other NFTs are consumable, which players can equip themselves with before entering a match and engaging in battle.
“You can win other people’s NFTs,” says Alex. “There’s also the game token $LVL, which players need to put up as their ante to create the pot. Then the winner, or winning team, with the most kills gets the pot. But the NFTs play a critical role in coming out on top.”
Coveted in-game items include such destructive wonders as Thunderstorm, a mortar-based kill streak that pinpoints three separate user-targeted areas with machine-generated lightning; and Hammer of the Gods, an instrument deploying swift mass destruction aka ‘melee death’ on any unfortunate souls that happen to be within striking distance.
Plus there are NFTs harnessing utilities such as the Plasma Propulsion Pack, a short-burst personal flight device; and Shadow’s Whisper, a wearable NFT that modifies the air to cloak the sound of movement — essential for making a silent escape or creeping up behind the enemy.
Minting on Myria
Says Alex, “these NFTs will be minted exclusively on Myria’s L2 scaling solution, benefitting from fast transaction speeds and zero gas fees.
“We have the first set of NFTs already available, and the NFT passes that we’re releasing with Myria will include some of those digital assets. These are our starter kits containing the alpha.
“There’s the silver-level starter kit and the gold founder kit. They’ll include NFT packs and some land. People who buy the gold founder kit will also have the prestige of being given a title on the Psyber-X Discord channel. So the idea is that, if people get in with Myria, they’ll basically be getting in with some of the earliest items that we have.
He adds, “there are a hundred thousand packs of the alpha set NFTs. If this game gets as big as we think it could, a hundred thousand is very few. So that’s five NFTs in each which is a total of just half-a-million alpha NFTs that can ever exist. It’s not a lot compared to many other Web3 games.”
Totting up these figures, if the game gets as big as the Psyber-X community and Myria believe it will, the NTFS Alex speaks of will become increasingly rare.
Bright future for a power-packed partnership
“We already have an omni-chain backend and we’ve partnered with Myria to mint our NFTs on the best Ethereum L2 solution. We’re taking in the data, and we want to get our Myria nodes set up so that we can integrate perfectly.”
