The Metarush Obstacle Contest is Live!
Metarush is going into overdrive! We’ve already announced our second closed gameplay demo that’ll gather community members, streamers, guild representatives, and pro players, and introduce a brand-new level! But there’s more on the way! Today marks the start of the Metarush Obstacle Contest!
What is Metarush?
Metarush is the debut of Myria’s internal game studio, Myria Studios, introducing an electrifying fusion of the beloved obstacle runner genre and the popular battle royale experience. In Metarush players race across captivating landscapes, overcoming obstacles and traps in an attempt to reach the end of the stage. Only the fastest players get to advance to the next level and in the end, there can only be one champion.
New Metarush levels are on the way! Players participating in our second gameplay demo will be the first to experience them! The new levels will allow players to explore the vast land of galactic Jellyfish, race through data servers of old space stations and mining facilities. But this is just a glimpse of what is coming!
The Event
With the Metarush Obstacle Contest, community members will have a chance to unleash their inner game designer and showcase their creativity. We’re inviting all players to submit their most thrilling obstacle ideas for consideration.
A total of 3 winners will be picked, with first place grabbing $200 in MYRIA tokens and a spot at the upcoming Metarush gameplay demo! All three winners will have their obstacle ideas featured in future Metarush levels. Don’t miss this opportunity to be part of the action and leave your mark in the racing world of Metarush. The contest is open starting today and will continue until August 21st. We can’t wait to see the fantastic ideas our community will come up with!
How can you participate?
There are a couple of rules that all participants must follow. First and foremost, the obstacle ideas need to be created for a race-type level. In Metarush, the player character will start from the beginning of the level and aim to reach the end portal to beat the competition. The goal of obstacles is to help create a sense of achievement and struggle for the players, making their arrival at the portal more fulfilling. Obstacles can also provide certain benefits, such as a booster-like speedup platform.
Obstacle Submission Format
To successfully enter your idea in the contest, make sure you clarify the function of the obstacle and thoroughly describe the idea behind it. Submissions should include:
- Function — Simply explain the function of your obstacle within the race
- Description — Fully describe the obstacle mechanics and how it will affect the player
- Reference — Visualize the obstacle with a drawing, reference, or an AI image
Here’s an example of the above requirements filled out for an obstacle that’s already in Metarush.

Climbing Platform: Players need to climb to reach the top.
Rotating Fan: Precisely time your jump to go through the fan!
Jellyfish: Jumping on a jellyfish will bounce the player in the air.
