Counting down to a Myriad takeover of the Powerhouse: here’s what we’re most excited for.

DAY 2: Elevator Pitches

A lot can happen in 90 seconds. For the startups participating in our Elevator Pitches, that’s all the time they’ve got to impress the audience and our judging panel and progress to the Investor Lounge.

If you love the thrill of the pitch and you’re interested in seeing startups at the top of their game, then you’ll want to check this out. Startups will pitch on the Startup Stage on Thursday and Friday, so come along and see some rising startup stars, hear some great pitches and get inspired!

DAY 3: The Myriad Studio

We can’t wait to show you the Myriad Studio, a custom-built marquee, stage and expo space. Located on the Brisbane Powerhouse Performance Lawn, the studio includes a whole new schedule of sessions, will house the startup expo which features the Queensland Regional Showcase, as well as food trucks and relaxation areas.

If you’re feeling hungry then we’ve got you sorted with eats from Pizza Antica, How We Rolls, Viralata Food Truck, and Paella Magic. Grab a bite, relax on the lawn and soak in some QLD sunshine in between keynotes and workshops.

DAY 4: My Grandmother’s Lingo

My Grandmother’s Lingo have just returned from SXSW 2017 with a prize for responsive design, straight off the back of last year’s Walkley Award win for Multimedia Storytelling. The unique voice-activated interactive allows users to unlock the story of Angelina Joshua, a young Indigenous woman living in remote East Arnhem Land, and her fight to save her traditional language, Marra.

Don’t miss the keynote hosted by Angelina Joshua and producer Gina McKeon, which explores the changing nature of media and storytelling through technology, and how we can harness it to engage new and young audiences in Australia and around the world. Don’t miss this critically-acclaimed interactive animation exhibiting at #Myriad2017, and head to the website for a sneak peek!

DAY 5: Check out Priya’s Shakti

Priya’s Shakti uses Augmented Reality to tell its story

It’s been showcased in London, New York, and now Brisbane. Myriad’s Opening Night will feature displays from the globally-acclaimed augmented reality art-piece ‘Priya’s Shakti.’ Love the artwork? Then don’t miss the keynote from founder Ram Devineni on Day 1 of Myriad 2017.

Who is Priya? A beautiful woman, wrapped in a sari, sits calmly on top of a ferocious tiger. This is how the world meets Priya, India’s newest superhero and a sexual assault survivor. See the augmented reality exhibition showcased in London, New York and featured in over 500 news stories around the globe.

DAY 6: Spaceship Launch

We can’t wait to see the official launch of Spaceship at #Myriad2017. Spaceship has been one of the most hotly anticipated launches of this year, with 25k people already on the waitlist in just their beta stage. With a name like Spaceship and a sea of hype surrounding its launch, it’s clear this superannuation fund is breaking the mould established by funds before it. Don’t miss the launch — head to www.myriad.live/program for info and times!

DAY 7: We’re Pumped for Opening Night

For those who want a taste of Myriad we’re kicking off our opening night with a free public party! From 6:00 pm on Wednesday March 29, everyone can celebrate with us on the Powerhouse Turbine Platform.

The night includes a live-stream of the Future of Everything opening panel happening inside the Powerhouse, with QLD Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk, MP, Peter Schwartz, Futurist & Co-Founder, General Business Network, Tamzin Taylor, ‎Head of Apps for Western Europe, Google Play — ‎Google, Taavi Kotka, CIO of Estonia and Pip Marlow, CEO Strategic Innovation, Suncorp.

Come along and check out the huge AXIOM lighting installation, plus an outdoor expo space and innovation hub, all to the soundtrack of Brisbane-favourites DJ Black Amex and interactive band 7 Bit Hero.

Touch, listen and walk through the AXIOM lighting installation at #Myriad2017

A selection of food trucks and an outdoor bar will service event attendees in addition to the existing bars and restaurants at Brisbane Powerhouse. We’ll be chowing down on eats from Pizza Antica, How We Rolls, Viralata Food Truck, and Paella Magic.

Excited yet? Grab a beer, check out some rad exhibitions, listen to great keynotes and live music, and get inspired. Sounds like our kinda party.
