there’s a line: that line which is crossed when the fruit is no longer ripe, when it starts to rot. at this point it can no longer be eaten or fermented, it can only be left to itself so it rots at its pace, so the flies and worms show up and it fades into the ground to become organic soil for future fruits. maybe those are the only times when ripe fruits are truly appreciated. cause when they abound and are taken for granted, what can be appreciated is life itself.
