This week we spoke with Josh, one of the co-founders of Snackcess, a healthy snack provider for companies and their employees as they work from home.

Hi Josh! Thanks for catching up with us. Could you introduce yourself and what you do at Snackcess?

I am Josh, one of the three co-founders of Snackcess. We help businesses, who care deeply about their culture and employees, send healthy snacks to keep their teams productive and engaged no matter where they are.

Behind the scenes at Snackcess

We hear this year has been particularly important for you especially with the first lockdown, as this was when the idea for Snackcess came together! Could you tell us a little about how that happened?

Snackcess was born out of lockdown. Whilst in the final year of our studies during lockdown we came across an article which showed how the snacking habits of employees during lockdown had deteriorated as people were stuck in their houses with a cupboard full of unhealthy food. We therefore wanted to combine our passion for healthy living and knowledge of healthy brands to solve this problem and deliver healthy snacks directly to employees’ doors.

How do you feel about everyone’s morale at the moment working from home? What have been your ways of coping with the current situation and its challenges?

The current situation presents many difficulties however as a team we always maintain a sense of optimism and gratitude. We are lucky to have the opportunity to be working on a problem we love and making other people happy which keeps our morale high. In terms of tactics, I practice meditation every morning and have done for the past 5 years. This is a part of my morning routine which sets me up for the day and ensures I am positive before starting any work.

Everyone loves snacks of course, but how do you feel the brands you’ve selected improve our wellbeing without compromising on our health?

Let’s face it basically everyone snacks, one survey reported that 97% of adults snack at least once per day. We want to make sure that Snackcess is a healthier alternative so we have picked snacks that cut out any additives, preservatives, added sugars and other harmful ingredients you find in your everyday snack whilst ensuring they all still taste great.

Snackcess rates their chosen brands

Can you recommend an artist you’ve recently discovered who’s music helps you stay motivated?

I am a big fan of Pop Smoke at the moment, his posthumous album had some of his best work and you can see how popular it has got on TikTok.

In order to stay away from banana bread this second round, do you have another recipe for us to try at home and improve our baking skills?

One of my favourites is banana pancakes. It is a simple recipe where you only need 1 banana and 2 eggs and mix them together. I then add in some superfoods like raw cacao powder, cacao nibs and collagen powder but they are optional. Add some butter to the pan and cook for 1 minute each side. Tastes just as a good as a normal pancake and a lot healthier!
