We would like to thank our community for their participation in our 1st Reddit AMA last month. The event was a great success and we received some positive feedback and insightful inquiries. Be sure to subscribe to our Reddit page to participate in the next one on April 19. Here is a summary of some of the top questions and topics that were covered and discussed.

China Firewall

Could someone use Mysterium Network to bypass China’s great firewall or similar? Even in extreme scenarios such as when most cVPN fail to work?

Mysterium will provide the community with a top class tool for private communication. The firewall operates on finding certain patterns on the network traffic and comparing them with the known patterns (kind of a continuous cat and mouse game). We of course recommend our users to follow local regulations even if the technology opens other possibilities.

ISP Speed Throttling

Could an internet service provider throttle internet speed of someone using Mysterium?

It is actually a common practice to throttle internet speed, and more common in certain countries, e.g. US. Throttling depends on limitations imposed by ISPs, such as maximum data transferred, content being accessed (like Netflix), torrent usage or some malicious activity. The goal is not to be classified in one of those categories. VPN usage usually is being throttled by ISPs in countries such as China, Russia or other developing economies. This comes from political or economical reality. I.e in most African countries global (transit) internet is very expensive, thus throttling is mainly an economic measure.

Exchanges

Hi Myst. Is Bittrex going to onboard your coin again sometime in the future? Or do you have another exchange partner in mind? Thx. M

When the MYST token has been integrated in the VPN and nodes with the payments system we will be able to apply for relisting. We are also in the final stages of negotiations with several exchanges for listing. As mentioned previously we will be listed on at least one medium size exchange and a decentralized one. MYST is currently listed on: centralized- Liqui, BigONE; decentralized - IDEX, ForkDelta.

Our selection process:

1) We identify possible candidates and whether they meet our current selection criteria (1 medium size volume, the other decentralized or with decentralization and security aspects).

2) We do an investigation about the selected candidates (background, security, customer service, etc).

3) We fill the listing form and contact the chosen exchanges for potential listing.

4) We wait for approval of the listing (some exchanges reply quickly but then take time to do background check and process Non Disclosure Agreement).

5) We receive a decision from the exchange and conditions (price, delisting policy, trading pairs).

6) We make final decision whether to list, make payment and proceed to finalize process with the legal team. This the current status for several exchanges and as soon as we have a final agreement we will announce it.
