90% of People Can’t Resist Giving Advice. Can You?
Knowing when to hold back shows your wisdom
Often, unsolicited advice is a form of sophisticated bragging.
That hurts. Isn’t it?
It hurt me when I realized this.
While I was on my spiritual path, I became sensitive to the struggles of my near ones. Their short temper flies high. They accused each other of their unhappiness.
I was also grappling with my life, trying to make sense of many things.
But sometimes, you move beyond the phase that others struggle with and truly understand it inside and out.
I knew why they were behaving like that. I thought I could help them move beyond it and truly understand the reason for their misery, and once they do, they can work on it.
I was so wrong.
I tried helping them.
When they didn’t listen, I’d aggressively put my point across as I thought their life was my responsibility.
I wondered how they could not see this simple thing.
I thought I was wiser and tried to push my advice, which they had never sought from me.
