Stage 1 — Acquiring All Knowledge

The spiritual awakening starts out of nowhere or is caused by a life crisis like a breakup, death, trauma, or other significant life changes.

During this initial stage, you may feel confused, unhappy, or lost. You may feel disconnected from the world and those around you. Looking at the people around you, you feel as if you no longer relate to them.

It’s difficult to comprehend the transformation taking place within you during a spiritual awakening, and so the people around you, if unaware, assume you may have lost your mind.

As a result of this disconnect, you may feel depressed or anxious. Consequently, you begin your search for answers without knowing what you're really searching for. As you search for meaning and purpose in life, you question everything you’ve known.

This questioning stage pulls you out of your life and forces you to discover a deeper meaning. “Why am I here?” “What am I doing here?” and “There has to be more to life than this,” you constantly ask and lamenting.
