I was going to do it.

My coworkers didn’t make the outbound calls, so I decided I would get it done. But just as I was about to do it, I stopped.

I hung up the phone and picked up a book instead.

I decided I was not going to do it.

Why?

I had already done my part.

How often has a lazy person risen to the top while a hard-working person remained behind? How many times have you poured your heart and soul into something that never came to fruition?

The world has made us believe that the more we work, the more we are worth.

But the harsh truth is that the world doesn’t reward those who work hard.

Working and trying too hard is the greatest trap you can fall into.

It is a distraction disguised as virtue.

We have been told that the road to success is paved with sweat and sacrifice. But look around you. How many people do you know who have spent years working on something that never produced results? Pushing themselves to the limit, investing…
