I have a fond love of Astrology. I’ve never studied it professionally but have been drawn to learning about all aspects of it from a very early age. Whilst listening to the Astrology Podcast, I came across the myth of goddess Inanna for the first time. I was so captivated by her that I wanted to share her story and how it maps to Venus’s orbit.

Myth or reality? We will never really know for sure but what fascinates me the most, is how civilization over 6000 years ago, knew about the powers the planets have on us.

Who Was Goddess Inanna?

According to Wikipedia

Inanna is an ancient Mesopotamian goddess associated with love, beauty, sex, war, justice and political power.

She was originally worshipped in Sumer under the name “Inanna” and was known as the “Queen of Heaven”

It is said that Venus came down to Earth from the heavens as a woman, Inanna. She was the first of many incarnations of Venus — the most well-known being the Greek goddess Aphrodite.
