The Role of the Cosmic Magician
Why it’s time to embrace Cosmic Consciousness as our new paradigm for reality
What is a Cosmic Magician?
The short answer is “you are”.
In fact, we are all “Cosmic Magicians”. The vast majority of us, however, are unconscious of this reality. We are unconscious of the reality that we are co-creating every moment of every day.
There is an old Zen proverb (attributed to Linji Yixuan in the year 866) that says “If you see the Buddha on the road, kill him.”
Yixuan wasn’t suggesting that any of his students literally hunt down the Buddha and kill him; rather, he was imploring his students to kill the idea that enlightenment is something to look for outside of oneself.
Most spiritual development is like that. It’s about killing your misconceptions, your misperceptions, your delusions, which, once all that “killing” is finished, the veil becomes dissolved, and you experience reality the way William Blake described it in this line from “The Marriage of Heaven & Hell”:
“If the doors of perception were cleansed everything would appear to man as it is, Infinite.”
