The World Is More Than We See
I’ve had many weird events happen in my life
--
I’ve had weird events happen in my life, and it’s been hard. It hasn’t been hard because of those events — they’re so much fun — but because people don’t understand me. Or worse, they don’t believe me. And yet, I still tell my stories.
I believe they will help some people wake up to the fact that there is more to this world than we can see with our two physical eyes.
My craziest story happened when I was just seven years old.
My stepmom and dad announced they were having a baby. I can’t tell you why, but for some reason, I became obsessed with the idea of having twin sisters. I already had two brothers, so I suppose I thought this would even things out.
I went to my friend Jenny’s house to see if she wanted to play. While I was waiting for her, I remember crouching down near her garage and praying (begging) to God to let me have twin sisters.
At some point, I told my dad and stepmom of my grand plan to have twin sisters, and they just laughed.
Then in the 7th month of my stepmom’s pregnancy, the doctor found a second baby. “It must have been hiding behind the other one this whole time!”
My twin sisters were born just a couple of months later.
Another time was when my husband and I were looking for a house. We had a list of everything we wanted: a deck, lots of windows, sunny, a walk-out basement, a garage, etc.
We found a house that had about one-third of the items on our list, but we decided it was good enough and signed the contract.
One day when we were checking out our new place (after we signed the papers but before we moved in), I had this strong feeling in my gut.
“Something doesn’t feel right. I think we have to go look one more time,” I said, even though we were already in a contract and it seemed futile. But my husband agreed and we started to drive around the area.
And then there it was.
A house on a corner plot that had everything on our list (and more once we saw the inside) with a little “For Sale By Owner” sign in the top window.
Through a series of events, we were able to get out of the contract of the other house, and we’ve been living in the divinely-inspired house for the last 20 years.
But perhaps it was just a coincidence.
Another time I had a run-down laptop, and I needed a new one. For some reason, I got it into my mind that I couldn’t have any old laptop. I needed a MacBook Air. I was obsessed with this thought.
At the time, we were broke. A MacBook Air would have taken 1/3 of our savings, and it might as well have cost a million dollars. It was inaccessible.
I didn’t care. I knew I would get it. I didn’t know how, but I knew I would have one.
My husband came home from work one day and said, “The casino is having a sweepstakes. They’re giving away MacBook Airs.”
On the day of the sweepstakes, I cleared off my desk and cleaned it. I was making room for my new computer.
During the sweeps, you had to play table games or slots and use your player’s card to be entered. I started with a card game and quickly lost. I didn’t have a lot of money to play with because, as I mentioned, we were pretty broke at the time.
I decided to try slots and hoped my money would last long enough for them to call the winner of the drawing. I sat down at one machine and started losing.
All of a sudden, I heard this voice in my head, and it said: “Play a slot with a jackpot?”
This voice was not the chatty voice you usually hear in your mind. It was different. It seemed like a good idea, so I went to a Grease-themed slot machine, hit the button a few times, and then it started singing:
“You’re the one that I want. Oooh oooh oooh darling.”
A message popped up saying to call the attendant because I won the $12,000 jackpot.
I got a MacBook Air that evening.
Coincidence?
Another thing that happened to me was several years ago. I had just gotten into The Secret movie and I was pretty excited to learn what I was doing all these years was called manifesting via the Law of Attraction.
I decided to test this law and asked the Universe to “show me something surprising and delightful.”
That night we went to a wedding for my husband’s coworker. We sat at a table with people we didn’t know and we were chatting and getting to know them. One woman we sat next to asked us about our kids and how old they were. She asked, “What are their names?” I said, “Our son is Frankie and our daughter is Lia.”
She looked shocked.
She said, “My sister has a son named Frankie and a daughter named Lia.”
“Spelled L-I-A?”
“Yup! Spelled just like that.”
That was one of my favorites because it was such a surprise (and a delight)! But maybe it was just a coincidence.
The final one may not be a big deal to you, but it was incredible for me.
We needed new carpeting in our house, so my husband and I went to Home Depot to check out what they had. I found the exact carpet I wanted there and I was really excited about it. I ran my hands through it, and I imagined what it would feel like to walk on it.
But…
Getting new carpet through The Home Depot was too expensive, so my husband found some outside contractors to do the work.
They brought their samples over, but sadly, there was nothing like the carpet I saw. I was disappointed, but it wasn’t a big deal. We knew we would pick something almost as nice.
A few days later, I came home from work, and when I rounded the corner to get to my front door, I was shocked! There were some samples of carpet with the exact one I wanted right on top.
The Universe delivered my perfect carpet right to my door.
The contractors came by and dropped off more samples that day.
And now I have that carpet in my house and I still love it! When I walk on it, it’s exactly how I imagined it would feel.
Coincidence?
Manifesting is just part of my life. I’ve only given you a small snippet of what I’ve experienced.
It’s always exciting when it happens, but it also feels normal. I don’t even question it anymore.
I know deep in my soul that these were not coincidences.
When people don’t believe me or when they think I’m “weird” or “scary”, it stings a little, but it’s OK.
I know what I know, and I realize others don’t have to believe in the same things I believe in. We’re all on our own journeys in life.
I believe there’s something or someone on the other side ready to guide us and help us get everything we want.
Know what you want, ask for it, stop worrying about it, and let them do the hard work of delivering it to you
It’s that simple.
That doesn’t mean life will be perfect (how boring would that be??), but it means you have an infinite support system on the other side that you can tap into when you need help.
That’s exciting!
