The Age of Aquarius is a phrase used by astrologers to describe the current time period. This phrase is derived from the belief that between the years of now and 2050, Earth will experience a new age where human consciousness will evolve into a higher understanding of truth and reality. Explore the true meaning behind what the Aquarian age means for us, how it differs from zodiac signs, and why you should care about its significance.

The Origins of The Age of Aquarius

The term was first coined in 1730 by astrologer William Lilly, but it has been popularized through pop culture references such as “The Age of Aquarius” song from the musical “Hair.”

According to astrology, an age occurs every 2160 years, when the sun moves into a new constellation. The last age was in Aries, and before that, it was in Pisces. We are currently moving out of the Age of Pisces and into the Age of Aquarius.

Although the exact date that we enter the Age of Aquarius is not clearly known, many theorists suggest that we are entering it now — somewhere between spring of 2020 and winter of 2021.
