Only people who are capable of loving strongly can also suffer great sorrow, but this same necessity of loving serves to counteract their grief and heals them. ~ Leo Tolstoy ~

At all costs, this love compels us to give so that we alleviate the suffering of others. Instead of seeking to fulfill our emotional and physical needs (receiving), we humbly give of ourselves (1 Peter 3:8–9).

Emotions are a part of who we are. Feeling strongly means we also feel more pain. The stronger we are emotionally, the more independent we become. We don’t feel the need to fit in because we fit in where we want to fit in, and that is just fine. Emotions are reactions. Emotions reflect the way we interpret reality.

We tend to be exceptional friends who want to do for others. When we give to others, we make them feel closer to us, and at the same time, we feel closer to them. Giving makes us feel happy. Giving is contagious, it inspires others to behave generously in their life. People who give to others are generally more satisfied with their own situation and people in their life. We expect nothing in return because we understand that what goes around comes around. Our good feelings come from the act of giving. If we do good deeds to others, the same will be done to us. And if not to us, than to someone close to us, and that is just fine. We might not see the end result but we trust that it will happen in time. That is the Law of Karma.

It is a good thing to be a person who feels emotions deeply. Don’t feel overwhelmed, embrace it. Be your own person. Do what you do because you love doing it and make no excuses. Smile and remember that happiness is up to you, so choose happiness.
