I’ve learned: That I can always pray for someone when I don’t have the strength to help him in some other way. Prayer is a beautiful and essential way to ask for divine help and blessings for ourselves and for our friends and family in need. We can pray for divine grace to cope with our problems and tragedies.

Our prayer requests become even more powerful when praying with others. Together we can all help each other and those around us with our prayers. It is a simple idea with potential for very powerful and positive results. The power of prayer is well documented. It can produce miracles. It can give strength to those in need and make us strong, too. Start with Prayers of Thanksgiving for we have been given so much.

Dear Lord,

Thank You for this beautiful day. Thank You for our families and our marriages! We praise You, Lord! Among all that we have, there are so many hurting and needy people. We lift them up to You and ask that You would bless them, help them, heal them. May Your peace fill their hearts and may joy shine!

We ask that You intercede for them, fulfilling their needs according to Your will. We also pray that You would use us to help them in any way we can. Open our eyes and make us aware of the opportunities we have to bless others in need. Help us to not be selfish, help us to share. All that we have is Yours and we surrender to You.

May Your will be done in Jesus’ name. AMEN!

We pray because we love. As we speak with God, we get to know Him more. We pray because we have gratitude as we turn to God in thanksgiving for all we have. Prayer lays open our hearts, not only before God, but before ourselves. God already knows what is in them, we often do not. Prayer is the key to the heart of God. Prayer binds us to God. We pray so that we might grow, and we learn to depend upon him, and have a fellowship with Him. We could not do anything without Him.
