Not everything that is faced can be changed. But nothing can be changed until it is faced. ~ James Baldwin ~

Listen to your problems instead of running away from them. Running from your problems and hiding them behind a wall you’ve built around you is not strong. It is weak. Most times, you are running away because of what you fear might happen. It probably won’t happen. In most cases, it won’t be as bad as you fear. Don’t let fear rule. Understanding and accepting is half the battle. You can’t fix what you don’t understand.

Start by taking responsibility for your emotions. If we don’t learn to embrace how we feel and the decisions we must make, we might stop feeling altogether. We must listen to our problems and not blame them on someone else. It’s not a time to run from them or ignore them.

We are human. We care. It is not weak to show emotion, it is showing your strength. It is not a time to blame them on the devil instead of seizing it as an opportunity to grow and learn. Take time to talk, sing or write about how you feel. Get it off your chest and the weight on your shoulders should get lighter.

God wants us to use our problems for good, to make us better and stronger for our personal development, and for us to be able to help others in their times of conflict. In times of stress, we learn to trust Him by changing what is wrong with us and start making better choices. These are times of opportunity to grow as a person and be the best that we can be.

Choose to be happy, even when your problems remain. If the negative emotions and attitudes seem to overwhelm you, it’s time to stand up and fight. Fight your attitude and emotions. Don’t let them define you. It’s getting back up and moving forward that counts the most when you need to deal with hardships. Accept what you do not have the ability to change and get back up again. Smile and move on!
