The ability to want to help others comes from the sense of oneness that humans feel as parts of a whole. We help others because we need to help others to feel whole and one with the universe. We humans all seem to have this innate ability to help one another. This ability is the aspect of “us” that promotes the survival we need. We all are born with that drive to be there for one another, even strangers. It goes against our core being to fight it and not help each other. It is true that no man is an island. Be there when others need you.
