The Sword and the Spirit

The sword is the only offensive weapon on the list of spiritual armor. The Holy Spirit will give us wisdom for each tempting situation that confronts us. The Spirit is our source of power! Faith, salvation, truth, the Spirit … we seldom think of these as protection–but that is exactly what they are!

Also, the Sword of the Spirit represents the Word of God. When it goes into your spirit and soul it divides them and brings order to the person, and order to the spirit and soul individually. The spirit can now be the guide to the soul, (once divided from the soul) because the spirit is now a holy place and it’s where the Trinity communes.
