Being familiar with yourself is a form of knowledge, and it, too, doesn’t require understanding. You may get to know the images that crowd your dreams and see how they change from one period to the next, but all the while you may not have a clue as to what they mean. I took it to be a rule: The more involved you are, the less you know. ~ Thomas Moore (Original Self) ~

How often do you take the time to figure out what truly makes you happy? Knowing who you truly are is the process of understanding you — the human being — on a deeper level. To do this we must all start to respect our values in life, our beliefs, our personality, our priorities, our moods, our habits, and our relationships.

What do you dream about, what do you want for yourself? Take these wants seriously. Work at making them happen. To understand yourself more thoroughly, understand that what you notice and what irritates you in others can teach you important things about yourself. Be aware of these things and try to improve.

We are all unique. We are different from the rest of the world, and that makes us fabulous. Different means good. We can gain so much from being different from one another, from cultural differences, to beliefs, there is always an opportunity to learn and progress with diversity. Be proud and embrace your differences, and remember your individuality is something which should be treasured and respected.

Knowing yourself is the process of understanding who you are. Throughout our lives, we have developed beliefs and values, some good and some not so good. We should accept ourselves and value who we are, and accept others for who they are. If we learn to accept and respect each others’ differences, we can live together in harmony.
