WHO ARE WE?
All that we are is the result of what we have thought. If a man speaks or acts with an evil thought, pain follows him. If a man speaks or acts with a pure thought, happiness follows him, like a shadow that never leaves him. ~ Siddhartha Gautama ~
We go through so many different things every day that shape us into the person we are. Our memory and recall is what makes us who we are. Our current persona will probably change again and again because we will experience new things and the equation will change and get more complex. Our experiences make us the person we are at any given point in our lives. They shape who we are and who we will become.
Hopefully, we are somewhere in the middle of happiness and evil. Every book and experience and emotion and daydream that we have experienced is part of our identity, an additional piece to the ever-growing puzzle that adds up to who we are. Without thoughts, without words, we would lose our ability to reach others, to bond over experiences and find the beauty in differences, to connect to people across cities and countries and oceans. And if we didn’t have any of that, then we would really have to wonder — who are we?
