Your vision is essential to your success, not optional. You need to know where you’re headed before you get started. The goal setting process is mostly about the journey, but your vision is the destination. The process of vision is a journey of self discovery. Where there is no vision, there is no direction. And where there is no direction there is usually confusion and eventually despair.

Building a vision starts by figuring out exactly what you want. Ask yourself where you want to see yourself in the future. Anything is possible within a vision. The only way to be successful in your vision is to visualize it and set goals and a plan of action to reach your vision. You always have a choice of the story you tell and the vision you create. With time, you can always rewrite your script. It’s not about a perfect vision or a perfect life. It’s about one that’s uniquely yours.

Create, on paper, your vision for the next two years. Believe in your vision. Walk tall, thin big, be confident. You are more capable than you can ever imagine. The difference between great people and everyone else is that great people create their lives actively, while everyone else is created by their lives, passively waiting to see where life takes them next.
