The Beauty of Intuitive Applications

At what point do your users put enough data that you were able to fully predict all of their needs and wants? The reason that these major tech companies like Google and Facebook are so successful is because of their data.

Today, I opened my phone while standing at a train station, and Google anticipated my exact question. This Ui was quickly presented to me, with an intuitive and real time way of understanding when the train will arrive at my station.

Our user needs are evolving, as more and more users expect applications to be intuitive based off of their data. It’s no longer enough if to understand technology, the technology should be able to understand users.

We once thought that we had to learn how to use a computer, but now we expect applications to speak human.

Every piece of our world could improve its user experience. When you think about how pain points and where companies frusterate users, you can’t unsee it.

I found myself realizing that the ticket meter I purchased my platform ticket at should also recognize you have a credit card without you having to click that extra button “credit card”. How many steps are the least possible?

I’m a busy person! I’m trying to do as much as I can in as little time that I can. Delight me.

But the truth is, lean usability it isn’t delight anymore, it’s expectation. And businesses have the tools to offer it, so why not?

Those who pay attention to user needs will survive this AI upheaval. The strength of AI is learning systems that are fed bigger and bigger sets of data. How can we use data as a tool to better people’s lives without sacrificing their autonomy?

Now, with Ai emerging, data is especially valuable. We go to school to absorb data. We store memories. But we are so limited by our memory capacities and ability to recall. Can you imagine how smart someone would be if they could think with all the data of the world?

Google owns this. Facebook owns this.

Companies are deeply incentivized by user needs because with more time spent on an application, the more data the app is able to gather. Narrowing in on that human appeal will be what differentiates a successful company.

How does that translate to dollars? Data surpassed oil last year in its value. We can deeply understand users. We can predict their behavior. Due to supervised machine learning, we can understand massive amounts of data. And we can offer better products because of it.
