Welcome back to Mythereum! This article is the first in a series of many that will cover all original abilities in the primary card sets. Genesis, Awakening and Survivor all possess unique and differing abilities assigned to their sets, with little to no crossovers for most of them! Today we will cover the Hybrid ability: Agility!

Agility

Agility is a “Hybrid” ability, in that it produces a beneficial stat boost regardless of whether you are attacking or defending (as long as you have the magicks to cover it) of course. This ability provides a +20 attack power boost, and a +40 health boost on defense. It requires 1 grey magick and one white magick to activate, meaning if you want the defense portion to proc, you will need to have at least two grey and two white magick available while as the leader card (the attack portion will always fire first).

Cards with “Agility”

There are a total of 12 cards with the coveted “Agility” ability. All of these cards reside within the Genesis set, and are thus hard to come by these days. Interestingly, the rarest Genesis card, The Conductor, also resides within this skillset! Regardless, each ability set has a couple of primary cards, while the rest remain subpar stat-wise.

In the above example, Abarat is the goto card for Agility. Without MX upgrades, he has a natural 49 attack stat, giving him the ability to do 69 damage, and defend for 73.

After Abarat, Marowyn wins over Wolf, due to having a higher attack stat. generally in the genesis card block, Agility cards are primarily used for assault, with the hopes that at times, it may be able to defend as well, providing chance card advantage. hence, although Wolf has the highest defense of all agility cards, its not very high, and Marowyn is only 2 points behind, with a better attack stat. (42>38 4 point difference).

Agility Top Three (Left to right)

Kazumi and the Admiral are the runner ups here, thy’re slightly below Wolf and can help out, but with the way Genesis is designed, there is little value in owning/using the other Agility cards, if these ones can be accessed. Additionally, if one of the top three is not owned, you will likely be playing at a handicap against your opponent if using any of the others, due to their lower than average stats in comparison to other genesis block cards.

As such, be careful when purchasing any Agility card, and consider holding off until you can grab a top 3 piece. Alternatively, one such instance that may make an alternative Agility purchase worth it, is if you pick a different class (Race style) card. The top 3 are Elf-Elf-Animal. So if your battles require, say a human, or a Cat, you may find another agility card worthwhile.

That’s it, hope the Agility breakdown provides you insight and value to your collection and game experience. if you want to discuss it more, head on over to the Official Mythereum Discord Channel [HERE]!
