Frontier Technology and Innovation for our Multi-Planetary Future

History made. Trajectories changed.

--

Today, in less than an hour, Blue Origin’s NS-31 mission is launching the first all-female crew into space. It will be a historic milestone and a powerful message to the world.

Onboard six remarkable women:

Lauren Sánchez — Journalist, pilot, and mission organiser

Katy Perry — Global pop music artist and philanthropist

Gayle King — Broadcaster and journalist

Aisha Bowe — Former NASA rocket scientist and STEM advocate

Amanda Nguyen — Civil rights activist and Nobel Peace Prize nominee

Kerianne Flynn — Philanthropist and film producer

Even while I’m off work on annual leave, space doesn’t stop and neither does my excitement for moments like this.

As someone dedicated to building communities and creating new pathways into the space sector, this launch is profoundly inspiring. It not only celebrates the achievements of these incredible women, but also sparks the imaginations of future generations, showing that space is truly for everyone. Moments like this are energising and reviving as there are STILL some days where I am fighting for a seat at the table in a physical room, and batting off micro-agressions and biases. Taking time off to recharge, rest and enjoy moments like this are the BEST.

From STEM careers and in-space research to tourism and tech, this mission broadens the narrative and reminds us that representation really matters.
