Robert A. Küfner: My path to a meaningful job
Robert Küfner has been in the crypto-scene since 2010. He is the founder and CEO of Nakamo.to, and CVO of Advanced Blockchain AG.
The following is a translation from the German Good Jobs on April 18, 2018 , written by Vincent Halang.
"In 2010, I left my economics studies behind. It was too academic - and most of all still oriented towards an unsustainable mindset, the same mindset that I indirectly led to the 2008 financial crisis. time and time again.
Bitcoin led me to its underlying technology - blockchain, a subcategory of Distributed Ledger Technology, or DLT for short. To put it simply, transactions are handled digitally and most interestingly, in a decentralized fashion. This means that people can exchange value without the need for the oversight or verification by an intermediary, such as a bank. I realized that this was a technology revolutionary potential. A technology can sustainably improve our traditional economic system, and beyond. ''
DLT: An Internet-esque revolution?
'Since then, I have been dedicated to full-time DLT and I have helped build various companies around it, such as crowdfunding through various crypto-currencies.
In May 2017, I founded nakamo.to a limited liability company. Here we research, develop and invest in various DLT software that we believe has the potential to bring about a revolution similar to what the Internet itself did.
Today, this is an industry in its own right; when I started working on it over seven years ago, it was still just a movement. I was not concerned with making money. Since 2010, I got everything I need to live from this DLT system. Of course it was not always that easy, I lived in my car for two and a half years, and lived in Southeast Asia for a long time, because of the lower cost of living there.
Nevertheless, I am convinced that the centralist structures that are known today are going to be dissolved by this new technology. Suddenly, there is an opportunity to give people access to the capital markets. Similarly, this is possible in other industries. DLT has the potential to make the world more efficient, a fairer and better place. "
