Dear Nakamotians,

We are now less than 11 days away from the Nakamoto’s Den Blockchain Conference, taking place on February 19 and 20, 2019. Today, we want to announce an additional special guest who will speak in front of all Nakamoto’s Den attendees about his experiences as the president of truly free nation. Vit Jedlicka, the President of Liberland, will talk about all the ins and outs of his country, which inheres the world’s first decentralized autonomous government. Since his vision adds in line with our aspiration of creating a decentralized new world, we are very looking forward to hearing the fascinating tales of Liberland.

About the event:

Nakamoto’s Den is the biggest blockchain event of Cyprus in 2019. The conference is expected to welcome more than 1000+ blockchain enthusiasts, about 35+ valuable speakers that are relevant in the blockchain space, as well as 16 carefully chosen digital startups and Post-ICO teams that will participate in a live investment battle. The investment battles are currently open for applications, selected teams will be awarded a battle slot and a booth at the expo floor — completely free of charge. Tickets are currently available at the standard rate for only €249 (excl. VAT).

About the speaker:

The President of Liberland has described himself as a Bastiat-influenced anarcho-capitalist in a podcast. Vit Jedlička is a eurosceptic and points to the huge differences between a free market and an internal market. He has also sought to raise awareness of the democratic deficit in the institution of the EU and of the abuse of basic moral rules by EU institutions and EU member states. Vit Jedlička described the European Stability Mechanism as a protectorate.

The Free Republic of Liberland is a sovereign state located between Croatia and Serbia on the west bank of the Danube River. On some maps, this area is referred to as “Gornja Siga.”

This parcel of land came into existence due to a border dispute between Croatia and Serbia. This area is not claimed by Croatia, Serbia, nor any other nation or private entity. Furthermore, it remained unclaimed since the dissolution of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia in 1991.

In fact, for many decades, it has been uninhabited and no claim was ever made to this piece of land. It was, therefore, Terra Nullius - a no man’s land -until Vít Jedlička and Jana Markovicova proclaimed it as the Free Republic of Liberland on April 13, 2015. Liberland has set its boundary with ample margin from neighboring countries to ensure that it does not infringe upon the territory of Croatia or Serbia. The total area is approximately 7 km² and is now the third smallest sovereign state, after the Vatican and Monaco.
