SELF-AWARENESS | BREATHWORK
Happiness Isn’t A Dream — It’s A Practice
And you’re in control
After years of self-exploration and learning different mindfulness techniques, I’ve come to this simple conclusion:
The slower you breathe, the calmer you are.
The calmer you are, the clearer you think.
The clearer you think, the better you act.
The better you act, the happier you are.
I now teach breathwork for a living and the way someone breathes tells me a lot about how they live.
If they breathe slow and deep breaths, for example, I can say with relative confidence that they will be more calm and relaxed. They’ll most likely have more resilience to stress too and won’t be so overwhelmed by daily life.
If they breathe fast and short breaths, on the other hand, I can say they’ll be more tense and uneasy. They’ll most likely be more prone to illness and inflammation too.
This isn’t because I’m some breathing expert.
It’s simple biology.
When we breathe through the nose, for example, air enters the lungs slower, warmer, and more filtered.
