The Magic of Saraswati Pujo
A Day of Wisdom, Tradition, and Crushes
The festival of worshipping the goddess Saraswati is a very special day for me. Why so, you may wonder? Well, it’s Saraswati Pujo—is the day we worship Maa Saraswati, the goddess of wisdom, music, and arts, right at the cusp of spring.
But let me tell you, this isn’t like any other Hindu festival.
This one comes with its own set of rituals, memories, and a whole lot of nostalgia, especially for us Bengalis.
The No-Study Rule: A Kid’s Dream Come True
Do you remember those days when you’d do anything to skip studying? Well, Saraswati Pujo was the ultimate free pass for it. As kids, we waited for this day throughout the year because, according to tradition, we weren’t allowed to touch our books.
Which means no homework, no stress. Just pure, unadulterated playtime.
