Nanameue is a Japan/Thailand based startup with around 20 (Tokyo office) young and ambitious international team members working on development of mobile and web applications that will enrich the lives of the users through communication and human connection.

Our mission to create a world where everyone has a place of belonging, through developing the potential of Social Networking Services to become such a place.

Today I would like to update the tour of our Tokyo office, and also will tell you a little bit about the perks of working at Nanameue!

(check out the old tour by the CEO for extra pictures before the office renovation↓)

So, welcome to our Tokyo headquarters!

The office is situated in central Tokyo, in easily walkable distance from 5 stations — 7 minutes to Nogizaka station, and 10–12 minutes to Roppongi, Akasaka, Akasaka-Mitsuke and Aoyama-itchome.

If you’ve ever heard about the trendy Tokyo neighbourhoods like Roppongi, Omotesando, Aoyama, Akasaka and Azabu, it’s all right around the corner. ✨

Let’s start from the bottom, where the main entrance is. Downstairs we have a spacious lounge + cafe area for casual meetings and recreational activities (check out the the ping-pong table!).

We also sometimes host movie-viewing parties after work down here. Mostly horror. 😈

(By the way, about our team: we currently have 11 different nationalities working together, and the average age is 26 years old💪)

Also on this floor we’ve got meeting rooms for taking guests and having team meetings: when you want to get straight to the biz, no distractions.

Going up! 🚲 Take a peak into a sunny day at the office: some of us love to come to work by bycicle, some even skateboard or kick-scooter (unfortunately, not in the picture).

On this floor we have our main working space.

In principle, you can work wherever you want in the office: some prefer the downstairs area, some the cafe space, the terrace, or single-desk booths for extra concentration. It’s all up to you — you know the best what works for you personally.

So, here we cafe-style booth seats for more relaxed work and meetings, as well as for having lunch together…

…And the above-mentioned concentration cave ↓

By the desk area we have our library space. 📕

The open desk area (you can see it in the back) has no cubicles or separators, so open communication with your fellow team members is possible, and preferred!

(One of the perks of working at Nanameue is a monthly allowance covering book purchase, as well as language learning, paid apps, gym membership and more..! On some later occasion I would like to talk in detail about that, as well as the assistance we provide for those who joins our team coming from outside Japan.)

As I have already mentioned, our members come from different backgrounds and have different hobbies and interests, but love for learning and desire to grow through new experiences is something that unites us.

And now on to the truly fundamental stuff: snack corner🍘🍡

Our wonderful colleague orders snacks for everyone to never have an empty tank. Another great perk of our super international team is that each time someone comes back from their home country (or a just holiday) they bring some edible souvenir: so that way we get to try food not only from all around Japan, but literally all over the world!

Hopefully this post was useful for those who are considering applying for a position at Nanameue, or just wondering what is it like working here. ✌️
