Nano Foundation: Community Manager Appreciation Day
Today we take a moment to recognize and celebrate the people who create and support a community intent on changing the world.
Community Manager Appreciation Day takes place every 4th Monday of January as a way to highlight and celebrate community managers around the world. We all benefit from their tireless efforts across social media and online communication platforms to help educate users and improve their experiences. Communities with the most ambitious goals need the best Community Managers, at the Nano Foundation, we are lucky to have the very best.
The mission of the Nano Foundation is to revolutionize the world economy through a sustainable and secure global digital currency that is open and accessible to everyone.
Vital to achieving this mission is an energetic and passionate community, which Nano is proud to have. Fostered by our Community Managers that sit at its heart, our welcoming community is enthusiastic and creative with remarkable dedication and ingenuity in the projects and services it has created. Using their unique range of talents our Community Managers help to ensure this vibrant ecosystem is a perfect staging ground for the adoption and integration of the Nano protocol all over the world.
A good community manager needs to have a wealth of information at their fingertips and always be in touch with the latest events in the Nano ecosystem. A passion for helping people to understand and access the network is a major motivator for many of our Community Managers. Jesús Moreno (ISAM) has been closely supporting Spanish users on Telegram and Discord since late 2017:
“I really like to be able to help our community, resolve their doubts and keep them informed about Nano. It’s a great opportunity to learn, share and implement our technology by supporting and developing projects that benefit our local communities.”
His passion is shared by one of the more recent additions to our community team, Guilherme Lawless (Dotcom), who shares his talent for development with the entire community, teaching and helping projects maximize their impact:
“My motivation comes from working daily with state-of-the-art technology, I love to see people use what they once thought was difficult with relative ease. The simplicity of Nano, along with a goal of dispelling the misconceptions about cryptocurrency, led me to provide a support role within the community.”
This positive attitude to sharing information permeates our entire team, with many geographically diverse communities sprouting up as a result. Active and engaged communities are able to thrive with our talented Community Managers ensuring that everyone has an opportunity to positively interact with Nano.
Kedrin diligently serves the Russian community with news and support, gotowerdown similarly supports the Indonesian community. Within Europe, the community team is represented, amongst others, by Jasper who has been supporting users on Discord and Reddit since late 2017 and Flomes, who ensures that the Italian community is well looked after.
In addition to monitoring and assisting across common channels, many Community Managers are engaged in building out large communities specific to their region and working on projects to further our efforts. The amazing efforts of Bruno Garcia (Bruno Garcia) in helping to create and steer our Brazilian community into becoming a real force, never fails to inspire. He has spoken on behalf of Nano at conferences, meetups and even approached and secured listings at Brazilian exchanges!
On top of all of this, Bruno is one of our most responsive and active Community Managers across every platform we participate in. He is always working to share his passion for the technology and the community, and his humble nature only makes us love him more!
“The number of community projects and initiatives shows that the community is united, people always help and support each other regardless of the situation. It makes our community special!”

Nano also boasts an active and enthusiastic community in Venezuela, arguably one of the most important countries in terms of potential adoption. Louis Nobleman (Mr.Luvato) has helped build this community from the ground up with his work on social media and in his surrounding communities. Despite a difficult year in his home country, Louis has shown impressive determination in continuing to share his passion for Nano.
“My motivation for being a Community Manager is the sole purpose of helping the community to understand and use Nano as a currency.”

Some of our Community Managers focus their efforts on establishing and running crucial services that help bolster the community, showcase the Nano protocol and help compile and organize the rapidly expanding ecosystem.
Colmy, our long-standing Discord super-mod, operates and maintains one of the most used applications of the protocol, the ever popular Nano TipBot. She works hard to provide the community with a reliable and well-featured way of sending Nano from inside of discord.
Tip parties and 100 Nano “rains” are synonymous with having a good time on Discord so thanks for generating all of that Proof of Work Colmy!
Our most recent addition to the team, Joohansson (Joohansson), is another incredibly productive Community Manager. In between supervising discussions on Reddit and creating wonderfully expansive and evolving support FAQs, he has managed to create one of the most useful resources in the Nano ecosystem.
NanoLinks provides a curated library of links to over 250 Nano services and projects that are always up to date and accurate. It is the go-to place to find your way around the Nano ecosystem and is meticulously maintained.
“I like to see a nice user experience for all type of visitors. Not only by supporting a high quality community, but also by maintaining the tools in order to optimize the effort required by other moderators. This results in positive energy throughout the whole eco-system which makes me happy as well.”
Looking around our community it may not be obvious just how much Community Managers(and moderators) put in to create this inviting and helpful atmosphere for Nano. This grand mission depends on all of us, so today we want to shout it out, a huge THANK YOU to every one of our Community Managers, both past and present, and all who have chipped in with helping new users and Nano in general.
