Weekly Nano Update: 9/4/18
v15.2/Vote by Hash Update, A New Exchange and Updates Now Available in Picture Form

v15.2/Vote by Hash Update
Since the release of v15.2, we’ve had a number of reports from community members detailing the dramatic decreases in bandwidth usage when running a node on the Nano network.
On September 1st at 00:00 UTC, Vote by Hash was activated on the network. Shortly after activation, it became apparent that hash votes were not being properly rebroadcasted. As a result, nodes fell back on the old style voting format and the network continued to function normally.
The development team spent this weekend diagnosing the issue and have resolved it with the inclusion of PR #1141 in v16, which is currently undergoing testing on the beta network. Because nodes running v15.2 understand hash voting, it is not necessary for there to be another delay in activation.
You can look forward to even further reductions with the Vote by Hash feature in v16.
Nano Listed on a New Exchange
This past week, Nano was added to Singapore based cryptocurrency exchange Coinbene. Coinbene reports a daily trading volume of over $200 million, making it the 14th largest exchange in the world.
We’d like to thank the Coinbene team for their support as we continue to work towards making Nano accessible to an increasing number of users across the world.
