As a large slice of the Nano community begins to welcome the winter months, we have a festive-themed update for you this week. An engaging week has seen the welcome addition of Nano to established digital payments platform Coinify lead a succession of good news. We saw the launch of “The Power of Digital Money,” some interactive festive community projects, and we caught up with James Levelle’s and the Race For Future.

Coinify

Coinify, the long-running and sophisticated digital payments platform provider, has integrated Nano into its suite of adoption focused services. The instant and fee-less transactions offered by Nano provide even more compelling options for Coinifiy’s tens of thousands of merchants to accept cryptocurrency payments.

“Integration into the Coinify platform makes a welcome addition to the vibrant Nano ecosystem” said George Coxon, Nano Foundation COO. “Reducing the friction for businesses to seamlessly work with digital currencies is a frontier that we work hard to ensure Nano remains on the cutting edge of.”

Nano is also available on the Coinify Trading Platform, which gives individuals the possibility to make easy and fast purchases of Nano using a credit card or bank transfer. Nano will be available for all traders on myCoinify and by-choice for all existing and future Coinify Trade Partners. Coinify also offers customized Nano-only trade integrations for any wallet or platform at the convenience of the Nano community.

“We are happy to welcome Nano into our growing infrastructure of payment and trade options. Nano is built for fast & easy transactions and shares Coinify’s vision to bring forward new and improved payment methods at the convenience of individuals and businesses alike. We believe this partnership will help Nano to advance its usability, accessibility, and adoption on a global scale” said Mark Nevers, Coinify Sales Manager.

The Power of Digital Money — Video Project

The Nano Round the Globe team unveiled their latest video, “The Power of Digital Money,” this Friday to a great reception. Demonstrating the power of Nano in the real world, the video features volunteers relaying one unit of the digital currency Nano across 11 countries and 6 continents, all in under 2.5 minutes.

No fees, no borders, no bank accounts, no delay.

The logistics, time and effort that went into production were significant and reflect the passion the Nano community has for sharing this technology with the world. Great work everyone!

The Nano Community is Getting Festive

Nano powered Xmas tree from the Nano Center goes live

The community is gearing up for a Nano-fueled Christmas period with some fun and engaging projects. The NanoCenter and The Pixel Bar have worked together to install a Nano powered Xmas tree as part of the gaming-themed UK-based establishment’s annual festive decorations.

Livestreamed via Twitch, anyone in the world can donate a small(or large) amount of Nano and watch as the tree lights up in real-time. All proceeds from the Nanoxmas tree event will be donated to a local charity, Simon on the Streets, which provides support for those in need.

It’s Snowing Nano!

A snowy December may not be possible for all of the Nano communities around the world. But worry not, the SomeNano developer has brought an icy touch to the network with a snow-themed network visualizer.

James Levelle’s Race For Future takes an unexpected turn

Halfway through the Atlantic on the 7000-mile expedition to the UN Climate Conference in Chile this December, James Levelle and his team learned that protests in Chile caused the relocation of the event to Madrid. Having set sail from Spain, this was an ironic turn of events. Without time to sail back across the Atlantic in time to make the conference, James has committed to carrying on the journey through South America.

James explained to The Telegraph how he found out about the developments while on the high seas and told why he has decided to press on with the Race For Future. His goal is to continue to collect the views and thoughts of young people on climate change and present a film detailing his journey and the people he has met.

Nano How gets to grips with the Block Lattice

Nano How, the series of Nano educational articles, returns with another installment. This edition, titled “Blocks and Lattices,” addresses the fundamental building blocks of the ledger and how they interact in Nano’s unique Block Lattice data structure. The article dives into what blocks within Nano can do, as well as how they were initially quite different before the introduction of Universal Blocks in the protocol.

This article describes the foundation of what sets Nano apart from other digital currencies. If you haven’t read this, it may be an excellent first step to mastering Nano.
