Writing is all about the coffee
NaNoWriMo, Day 7
I haven’t done my writing yet.
Fur Elise is playing in my ears, the sky is dark, my pets are eating, and I am enjoying a really good cup of coffee.
I didn’t have time a week and a half ago, to run by Bello, the local coffee store where I buy beans the owner roasts on site. Espresso blend is my vice, prepared daily in my french press.
So I bought a bag of store-brand coffee from the grocery store.
I didn’t know the extent of my coffee snobbery, until I made my requisite writing cup of coffee this morning, adding blackstrap molasses, half & half, and had my first sip.
I don’t have a good non-cliche metaphor, not even at 5:44, for the taste difference, except to say my taste buds are having a party.
After two more sips of that wonderful elixir, I opened up Typewriter and began telling the adventure of Alex in downtown San Francisco. The adventure, I’m proud to say, did not involve coffee.

(What is it about adding that comma that makes the number feel bigger, somehow…)
