Man, this is hard

This year, I’m gonna make it, I’m gonna use NaNoWriMo to finish, edit, and publish the book I’ve been working on for months now. The damn thing has been available for preorder, and thus HAS — as in absolutely MUST — be out there soon. I promised this book to my readers and myself, and since I’m struggling with a severe lack of motivation, I’m doing NaNoWriMo to force myself into GETTING IT DONE.

So today is the first day and I have a plan, for what better way of doing it than by having a plan and sticking to it. The plan was to start writing and working on the book first thing in the morning. Easy, ‘just do it’ kind of a thing.

It’s pass 11 a.m. now. I walked the dog, did the dishes, made myself a cup of coffee, realized it’s freezing outside so I should take care of that water tank and empty it before it’s too late, made plans for lunch with my friend, had a nice chat with a neighbour, responded to comments on my posts, checked my stats and email, fed the pets (bottomless pits), realized the Medium payment hasn’t been processed yet, tried to figure out why, and did some other stuff…

…but I didn’t write one single word or did anything regarding the NaNoWriMo plan. I figured I can do it later. I still have a whole day ahead of me, or at least half of it… Not to mention the night.

An hour later. Man, this is hard, harder than I anticipated. Surely, another cup of coffee would help. And doing the laundry, that has to be taken care of too. And cleaning the house, I cannot work when the house is a mess. But, really, the water tank is urgent, so let’s deal with that right after having that coffee.

OMG, I just realized it’s not even November yet! Laughing out loud. It’s the last day of October! What a relief, I can postpone this till tomorrow AND keep my conscience clear! Singing and dancing. Lunchtime, here I come!
