NaNoWriMo week 1 went as well as could be expected, but somethings are starting to make me a bit nervous, I have to admit…it’s kind of like one of those “choose your own adventure” novels…at least that’s in my case. Anyone else feel that way?
Day 1
I spent my first hour procrastinating, by baking banana muffins and doing laundry. When I eventually did sit down to write, I realized I had forgotten about the time change and the hour I spent procrastinating was like time travelling back an hour. And, there were freshly baked goods and clean clothes to boot. Love that “fall back” time change!
Day 2
I spent day 2 of NaNoWriMo writing on my iPhone. I wrote in my chiropractor’s office. I wrote on 2 subway trips. I even wrote on Julian’s drive in to school yesterday morning ( I was not the driver, in case you are wondering.).
Surprisingly, I racked up a good amount of words.
Day 3
5,143. This was my word count last night before I went to bed. Still did much of my writing on the handy little iPhone. Much of it in traffic ( I was not driving, I swear!). Even spent time packing for my Mum’s move. Sacrificed an episode of Murdoch Mysteries. Again.
Day 4
Frankly, I didn’t think I was going to meet my writing goal, but then the NaNo gods smiled and allotted me some word sprint time in the late afternoon. Also, my iPad decided it wanted to act up. I definitely write/type faster on my desktop then I do on my iPhone/iPad. I really should go down to my basement office to work more often…
Day 5
Thank goodness for #NaNoWordSprints! I don’t think I would be as far as I am currently without them. They even had a session with “Doctor Who” inspired prompts. How cool is that? Bring on day 6…
Day 6
Just broke 10,000 words, which is great, but the story has definitely decided on its own plot line and not the one I had originally written. This is indeed mysterious. Time to let go…
Day 7
Oh. Oh. There seems to be two storylines in my head that seem to be slugging it out like a pair of pugilists…
Onwards! Onwards, we write! NaNoWriMo week #2!
