Business Class launch: 13 week column for Regional Australia
Understanding your ‘why’ and setting a clear vision
Business advice column launch. Today I join News Regional Media as a guest columnist for its Business Class series. I have been speaking regularly about the growth in regional Australia. In the last 2 years alone I have visited 23 regional centres talking sharing the growth story.
I am pleased to now be writing a column that is circulated through a media organisation that has such a material regional and rural reach. The series will effectively be a ‘how to’ for business owners, and managers. I use my own experience to give real life examples in my column. This is a way that I can share my ‘knowledge’. And what I have learned to maybe assist other business owners (any where) succeed and prosper.
I believe in business owners need to continually learn. I’m glad my experience might be of value to people I am likely to never get to meet, but make up the back bone of our economy.
First Column Out Now
We often hear about the importance of aligning the team, stakeholders and customers to the core ‘purpose’. But what does that mean in a practical sense? The ‘why’ the business operates. While this all sounds simple, often people confuse purpose with the mission, vision, or the goals of the business. They all have an important role, but each is very different business use. This is what my first contribution in the business advice series will talk to: Purpose, vision and understanding your ‘why’.
The 13-week series will feature insights and advice from me, to you, and will feature across a number of titles, including Sunshine Coast Daily, Toowoomba Chronicle, Bundaberg News Mail, The Queensland Times, and Lismore Northern Star.
The campaign aims to give business owners the information and tools to better understand growth and the marketing landscape. Ideally I want people to achieve stronger results in 2019 and beyond, and will feature advice on relevant topics in this business column series.
And as part of the partnership, one lucky reader can win a one-on-one personal strategy session with me, valued at $10,000.
