Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center returns to Taiwan: Behind-the-Scenes [Web Version]

In the winter of 2020, Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center (CMS) had their trip to Taiwan for Educations and Concerts of chamber music during the Covid-19 pandemic while Taiwan is one of a few place where was able for face-to-face concerts and events.

“It came somewhat as a miracle that our tour to Taiwan at December, a tour no one thought would come to pass, was given the green light to proceed after countless other concert cancellations.” said Wu Han.

Lecture and Masterclass at Soochow University — 12.2020

The beginning of the documentary starts with musicians gathering at the hotel after their two weeks of quarantine with excitements and releases of coming through the challenges and able to start their visit in Taiwan, their trip starts with series from visiting schools and concert hall for education and masterclasses, with settings changing frequently on schools and stages to tell the story of the educational part.

The second part of documentary is when the CMS artists had their day off and visited Chimei Museum, where collects wide collections of western art, musical instruments, weaponry and natural history, to have a look at various string instruments and tried with some historic violins made from 15th and 16th century.

Concert at National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying) — 12.2020

The final part of the documentary is the tour of several concerts taking place in Nation Taiwan Concert Hall and National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying), ending up with seven CMS musicians sharing their thoughts with excitements of returning to the stage finally, they will keep doing what they do and have hope that we will all get though of the pandemic situation.
