The construction of HS2 will be started in 2017

From Tuesday 3rd October 2017, Birmingham Park Street Gardens will be long-term closed. The reason of closure is preparation works for the new High Speed Two(HS2) route. The British high-speed rail project is approved by the British government in January, 8th, 2012. It is invested by China businesses. The project contains 2 phases. The first phase is between London and Birmingham, and the construction is started in 2017.It includes Birmingham city centre station and Birmingham Interchange station.Due to high Labour costs, land costs and planning circumstances, the price of British high speed is considered more expensive than other countries’. HS2 will include many stations along routes. It will increase need for tunnels and lead to cost more money. However, this high-speed rail line will reduce the travel time between two cities from 1hr21min to 49 min.
