Mom Showed Me My First Dead Person

It was weird.

“Come with me,” my mom said.

Of course, I stopped what I was doing and followed her.

Mom was the director of nurses at a small local nursing home. She loved her job, she got to be all bossy and director-y. She made me get a job at the nursing home the summer I turned 16, “to keep you out of trouble,” she said.
