My team and I talk with business owners every day, and one of the top questions we’ve received lately is how important consistency in marketing really is when you’re working on growing your business. I totally get it! Your time is precious, and you have a lot going on.

The answer to this question is that consistency in marketing your brand is more than just important; it’s vital to your business growth. Now, this doesn’t mean you have to be everywhere, and you don’t have to be posting all.the.time.

What you do need is consistency. Consistency in your branding, your messaging, and your posting schedule. Consistency in your brand promise, in your overall marketing strategy. These are what will make the difference.

How do you manage this consistency in digital marketing without spending all your time on marketing, though? Good question. Below, I’ll share how we do it!

The Numbers Behind Consistency in Marketing

Marketing is a competitive game, so it’s something you need to think strategically about. In today’s market, content is king — and when you look at the marketing budgets of many small businesses, it shows.

For many companies, content marketing makes up about a quarter of their marketing budget and a significant amount of time for their Marketing Teams. However, consistency in messaging, branding, and marketing strategy can affect your revenues by 20% or more!

This is because clients today get to know you through your content. Years ago, having an ad in the phone book was enough for people to find you; today, the world is quite literally at our fingertips, and people are consuming more content than ever before. When your ideal client sees your content, whether it’s a video, image, or written content, they need to immediately associate it with you.

There’s another benefit to being consistent with your marketing, however: 77% of brands are not. This is the power of consistency in marketing — it immediately sets you apart and grabs your audience’s attention, building trust along the way!

Finding the Time to Build Consistency

That’s great, you might say…but doesn’t it take a lot of time? Well, yes and no.

Building this consistency does take more time than not doing so; unfortunately, the content doesn’t plan, create, or manage itself. (That would be nice, though!) This is where hiring the right people and implementing strong marketing systems becomes essential.

Content creation and strategy will still take a good amount of your Marketing Team’s time, but with the right people and the right systems in place, that time can be used more effectively. (Interested in learning more? Catch our April webinar — members of my Marketing Team will be sharing the strategies and workflows they use every day!)

The good news is, you don’t have to build all these systems or train your superstars all by yourself. We’ve created programs to do that for you — they’re concise, streamlined, and full of great resources for you and your team!

Real Life Benefits of Consistency in Marketing

Even though it takes time and intentional effort, there are some pretty significant benefits to building consistency. In today’s fast-paced world, it’s vital to keep your message in front of your ideal client.

Like I said above, that doesn’t mean that you have to be everywhere, all the time, but being consistent — letting your clients know what to expect and providing the value they’re looking for — allows you to stay top of mind.

In turn, this allows you to build rapport and develop relationships so that when they need you, it’s a natural next step to reach out. It’s been shown that consistency in marketing your brand also tends to make it much easier to convert the sale!

However, brand consistency also allows you one more advantage: your marketing spend will be used much more efficiently. When your team has a cohesive strategy and elements to work with, they can increase their ROI and help you grow a profitable, thriving business!
