Ascension

From where It sat, It could see below for miles and miles, thousands of miles, millions upon millions of miles. With each perspective afforded by Its eyes, It could see the fallen. Those too weak of will or body, or mind, to summit. It beat them all, as It knew It must from the moment It spewed forth from Its forbears. Ready now, It turned Its eternal gaze away from those who no longer deserved, and looked Beyond.
