Our Shadows

Most days, our shadows do not stray from their domain. No match for the cleansing sun, they stretch away from us — long and deformed, innocent.

But this is a lie.

Our shadows follow us wherever we go. Truly, they are unaffected by the sun, or time, or averted eyes.

Where we go, they will be. In our history, in our present, and in our future. To ignore them is to succumb to them, and to walk into our downfall.
