Another Day, Another Training
Hello everyone! An update on our journey, including tangible ways that you can help our family grow (scroll to the bottom if interested):
Our home study document was completed on November 29, 2016, and we received it on December 6th, 2016. We had just returned from vacationing with friends in Galveston, and it was a happy surprise!
Now we were done. The paperwork. The e-mails. The wondering of how long this process was going to take. Everything that was in our control was DONE. We were beyond excited! Now, the hard part: to WAIT some more!
Fast forward through the holidays: we went on a cruise to celebrate my 30th birthday, we celebrated Christmas and our birthdays with our family, and then, my Grandpa who had been sick in the hospital for six months, passed away. That was hard for our family, but we were blessed to know that he was no longer suffering. Nathan performed the funeral service and it was beautiful. His smile and mischievous ways will definitely be missed.
Last Tuesday (January 10th, 2017), I saw another adoption agency post that they had just finalized their first adoption. We were interested in this agency last spring (remember, the girls’ home I had shared about?), but they were still getting organized and established, so we stopped working with them until they got all of their things in order.
We contacted the agency through Facebook and phone calls: they have a training on February 11th, 2017: attending this training will allow us to also be a family on their roster, which will expand our circle as we continue to wait for our baby.
We are excited and thrilled that God opened the door for us to begin pursuing this agency, while also staying in contact with our original agency. Our hearts are continuing to prepare for our child(ren) to arrive in His time, so whether that happens through this agency, another agency, or in five years, we know that it will all happen according to His will: makes the waiting and trainings and such all the more easier!

This has almost been a year-long journey with this good ol’ blog… isn’t that crazy? Doesn’t seem too long ago when I posted that video of our profile book, announcing our desire to adopt. We can’t thank you enough for all of the comments, texts, phone calls, and prayers that have been made on our behalf for our adoption. We knew it wouldn’t be an easy road, but with the Lord, and faithful family and friends by our side, it will be worth the wait.
