Upon a blue velvet throne

Innocently, I lay sleeping

My dreams having taken a documentarian turn

Royals and their gala battles for Halloween

There was the incident of 1904; involving live thermite

which the entire Royal family of knocked unconscious.

And the famous 1912. Bloodletting with swords.

An actual family feud erupted that year

It was bad for the commoners too.

But then my reveries of insane television ideas

was ever so rudely, brilliantly interrupted.

— — - I fear I have never quite had this distinction.

Of all the many events to occur in my life, I can not recall

This ever happening before, and that is what I find most shocking about it.

The light of the full moon, streaming through my window, settled on my face and forced me to rouse from my slumber.

At first, I was angry, and in pain from my sleeping position. But then as it dawned upon me. Luna was setting, and I had never once been waken to witness this. How rude of me!

So thoroughly common. Yet never can I recall

Having had the pleasure.

Her face illuminating the old oak branches

Silhoutting the Spanish moss

Blue velvet sky as a throne

Queen of the lunatics smiled upon me

and as her subject, I bow awake to her beauty.
